Sophia Church Wednesday Bible Study “The Need For Self-Discipline”

At 7:30pm on Jan 3rd, Sophia Church studied the message from 1Cor 9:24-27. The message encouraged the minister to be self-disciplined to set up clear goal to have a good start from January.

“In Verse 19-23, Paul mentioned: He has made himself a slave to everyone to win as many as possible. To be fruitful on this, we have to be self-discipline. Paul explained the importance of self-discipline. Paul was always fascinated by the picture of the athlete.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. But they just win a crown which will not last. How much more should the Christian discipline himself to win the crown which is eternal life.” Reflected the minister.

“Life is a battle. To win the battle and to be victorious in the race demands discipline. We have to discipline our bodies; it is one of the neglected facts of the spiritual life that very often spiritual depression springs from nothing else than physical unfitness. If a man is going to do his best work in anything he must bring to it a body as fit as he can make it. We have to discipline our minds; it is one of the tragedies of life that men may refuse to think until they become incapable of thinking. We can never solve problems by refusing to see them or by running away from them. We must discipline our souls; we can do so by facing life’s sorrows with calm endurance, its temptations with the strength God gives, its disappointments with courage.” Continued the minister.

The first three goals for 2018 will be rebuild a church & school; To have 24  Sunday Attendants on Jan; To set up YEF & AM;

Let us continue to pray for Sophia Church leaders and members can self-discipline themselves from Jan by setting up clear goals.
